What Customers Say About CDN Proaccurate Stainless Digital Thermometer:

It is sturdy and well built. It is water proof - huge plus for cleaning and dropping off in sink.Best one I've ever owned. None of them even compare to this CDN model. I've gone through atleast 5 thermometers in the past couple of years, all of which I purchased at large retail chains for $10-$15. When I left the job, I left with newly acquired love and passion for cooking. I worked in a restaurant kitchen for over four years while going to school. unfortunately the professional grade equipment couldn't come with me. It is fast - I would say about 2-3 second average.

My thermometer has broke after 2 months of use, never showed exact temperatures over 110°C, missing attaching device on it, otherwise your hands burn, because this device is too small in size. I on't advice to buy it. The description of the product is not right at all, no exact dimensions, too much advertizing ratio to efficiency.

Since I take fairly good care of him, I know the only way for the moisture to have gotten in is from the few times my girlfriend put him in the dishwasher. Maybe that one will last longer. Furthermore, the temperature read is supposed to go up to 350F. Why is it not 5 stars, then. He did his job, but from that day forward his display always seemed a little washed out, and I dread to think what would've happened if I put him in at 350F as I had contemplated. So, in short, heed my warnings, learn from my tales of woe, and you should have a long, loving relationship with your very own CDN thermo.

Truly instant read, dead on calibration, been with me through thick and thin (roasts). I performed the autopsy myself, and in the process discovered that there was rust inside. except that he's supposed to be dishwasher safe. As for me, I can't just replace him with another one, so I'm gonna give a Taylor instant-read a shot. I really loved this little guy.

Well, he died on me somewhat prematurely. I don't know anybody who cooks anything to an internal temperature of 350F--the lack of a clip for this thermo would make it a terrible candy/oil thermo--and so, to test the limits of his capability--I tried putting him in the oven with my roast once at a low/slow temp of 250F.

After ruining one too many pieces of perfectly good meat, I decided it was time to kick my old school, flaky, caveman times thermometer to the curb and upgrade to one that works. This is the unit that fit that bill.

Win-win. I've used it on chicken, beef, pork and while I haven't given it the old bbq grill test yet, I have a good feeling that it will work wonders in that arena as well (hence only 4 stars as opposed to 5).

It's flawless so far and sooo fast. It's affordable and dependable.

Wow, who knew it was so hard to decide on a thermometer. and works well.

Definitely recommend going with this unit.

Based on my experiences with this and other cheap instant read thermometers, I suggest others do the same. I suppose I'm just gonna have to suck it up and shell out for a high-end and well reputed instant read thermometer, because it seems like the cheap ones either share some fatal design flaw or are all just shoddily put together. It was as fast as other cheap "instant" thermometers I've seen or used, faster than some. This thermometer worked well until yesterday - when it stopped working. It was accurate (after fully dialing up). I would have given it four stars if it lasted a few years and five if it had lasted longer than that.

But 3 months is pretty unacceptable. I never exposed the head of the thermometer to water, didn't leave it in hot or harsh conditions, never dropped it. I tried replacing the battery - still no change. Now to be fair, I did like the thermometer while it did work. It was convenient. I stuck the tip into a water bath to measure its temperature and it worked fine. I bought this back in October after a similar model from another company died on me for no apparent reason.

Then I put it aside for a few minutes, tried again, and found that the displayed temperature would no longer change (and no, the 'hold' function was not on). I used it a lot.
